My Basement Flooded And Now My Water Heater Will Not Work. Is This A Common Problem?
After my basement flooded, I pumped all the water out. Now the hot water tank(gas) will not ignite. Is there some sort of floater kill switch? Is this a common thing that I can fix or something I will be needing professional help with?
The unit is less than 18 months old and was not the cause of the flooding. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have a Whirlpool electric water heater that was installed 7 years ago. The temperature and pressure valve (T & P valve) started leaking last week. I drained the tank, turned the thermostats down and replaced the T & P valve. The new valve leaks worse than the old one did. It leaks even if I turn the power to the water heater off.

Water Heater Question–after All Night, The Water Is Ice Cold. But An Hour Later, There Is Hot Water?
This morning, the water from the “hot” tap was ice cold. I got ready for work anyway (it is NOT fun washing your hair in icy water!!), and before I left, I went to brush my teeth, and lo and behold, there was hot water! I returned from work (I drive a school bus) did dishes, etc, with hot water. Then on my return from the afternoon shift, icy cold water again. I heated water up to use, and after running it awhile, again, there is hot water. Anyone have any clue what could be causing this?

Are “hot Water Heater Expansion Tanks” Required To Be Added To Old Hot Water Heaters In Maryland?
Also, let’s say you install an expansion tank in your condo to lessen the pressure coming into your pipes from the city water supply. Will the remaining condos in your building (that do not have an expantion tank installed) affect your pipes in any way? Will the pressure be higher in your condo since you have the expansion tank and they don’t?
