There are 2 water heaters 3.5 KW (15.2Amp) and 5KW (21.7Amp) I am interested in fitting to a property I rent out, as a form of back up for a 7 year old gas boiler. Recently had 3 weeks without hot water due to Engineer being run of his feet. Could either of these be wired off the standard socket ring? The cable is the standard section. Think its 2.5mm squared cable.

i got it fixed and got all the water up. my carpet in my bedroom now has a musty smell. any ideas on how to get rid of it?
Depends on what you mean by more efficient. A gas water heater will generally heat water faster and will recover faster if all the hot water is used up by a teenager taking a shower.
If you mean which is cheaper to operate that would depend on your local gas and electric rates. In many areas of the country the electric will cost you less to operate. But there are some areas where the rate schedules actually favor natural gas.
The water in my house is pretty hard (around 20 grain) and I’m struggling between the cheap one (650 from Sears plus installation fee) and Culligan (3000 including installation). Do you think if Culligan worths the money? Thanks a lot!
Also how do you know if there is carbon monoxides in your house? what is the symptom’s. how long dos it take to kill? is there a way to stop it? where does it come from? can carbon monoxide come from a dryer if the vent don’t have one of those medal things? is it safe for a dryer to not have a medal thing on the vent? can carbon monoxide get in the house from the vent
Can you run CPVC directly to a gas hot water. My concern is that the plastic is very close to the vent and is getting hot.

I recently moved and had the gas turned on at my residence. When the guy turned on the hot water heater he said that he got gas at the pilot light but not another spot where it needed to be so he said that there might be a blockage in the pilot? Need help I am told that this heater was purchased not even a year ago, any help/info would be appreciated since after moving I cannot afford to have someone come out yet
What do I need to do? ( other than check the upper element) how would I check it, is it dangerous if I let it go . Do i need to turn up the temperature from 120 to something else, for about a solid month we have had four people living at the house it use to be two, could that be why it says that?
