Can The Water From An Overflowing Softener Damage My Carpets Worse Because Of The Salt In It?
I had a basement flood and some have told me the salt content from the softener water will cause my carpets to deteriorate quickly. I have had a clean-up crew in to vacuum and dry them but some are saying they cannot be saved and the adjuster is wanting to salvage and reuse them. I would like to hear from one who knows.

the carpet should be fine but the pad under the carpet will need to be replaced, it will mildew very badly. the salt won’t hurt the rug
