Dishwasher Water Softener Salt?
Hi all,
In a bit of a pickle here. Our Teka dishwasher makes the usual operating noise when switched on, but no water is pulled into the machine and the “low water softener salt” light comes on. I cannot find this salt anywhere. Does anyone know what brands of salt there are for use in dishwashers? Where to buy them (downunder)? And would this be the reason why the water is not being drawn into the machine? The detergent tablet is still in its compartment and the door hasn’t opened.
Any help would be super.
RonR.

From what you describe you have a dishwasher with a built in water softener? You are in Austraillia and don’t know where to buy water softener salt?
Here in the states you can buy it almost anywhere form grocery stores to hardware stores. You might look for water softeners in the phone book they will know where you can buy salt.
For any water softener the more pure the salt the better. Whatever you do don’t use table salt. Most has anti-caking agents and iodine. You want solar salt.
