During The Summer My Gas Water Heater Works Fine. When The Gas Furnace Comes In The Fall The H20 Heater Stops.?
The gas furnace seems to cause the gas water heater pilot to go out. Why?? During the summer there are no issues.

There are four reasons why this might be so and all require attention.
The first is that the gas line size feeding the units is inadequate. The furnace is first in line and when the burner comes on it draws too much gas and depletes the pressure to the hot water heater sufficiently for the pilot to go out on the hot water heater. I think this is less likely.
The second is that the flu pipes are not properly done and the initial push of air from the furnace is blowing down the exhaust pipe for the hot water heater and blowing it out. This may be most likely.
The third is that the air supply to the units is inadequate for both and there was separate venting for both. When the furnace comes on it would suck the air from the area and cause air to flow down the exhaust flue of the hot water cylinder and blow out the pilot.
The chimney could be partially blocked causing back pressure.
Have it checked out as something is wrong and it could be dangerous if anything but the first possibility.
