How Hard Is It To Install A Water Softener?
I have a relative who just had a new home built. The plumber wants $250 to install a water softener. I read online, and it appears to be kind of complicated, with various cutting and soldering and whatnot….
Should I not attempt this?

If you can solder a copper pipe then this is a basic job.
Turn off the water supply. Drain the lines. Cut the line. Connect the line to the inlet and outlet. Turn water back on. Check for leaks.
Should take you less than 1 hour.

It can be fairly easy when a new home is built without a watersoftner the plumbing contractor generally leaves a “loop” which is two pipes looed down usually next to the water heater the reason for this is to isolate the cold water to the kitchen sink(ice maker) etc as well as the outside slilcocks the lines you don’t want soft water two if there is a loop assuming there is if a plumber only wants $250 dollars to install it) and you have sweat pipe before its not to bad if you have never sweat pipe before I would leave it two the pros water-softeners have plastic and rubber in there connections as well as electronic components that cant get hot or have solder drip on them sweating pipe sounds easy but trying to sweat pipe into a system that has had water in it already is a whole different ball game And for the record if the plumber is a licensed pro $250 is a very fair price

Our house has an old (10 year old? maybe?) water softener that is rented. Thus, all of the hardware is in place for such a device. We went ahead and bought a new water softener outright, so once the rented one is gone we’ll be putting in the new one.If you want more information i am giving you a website link visit it may be its helps you alot which is given below
