Well – I’m not really sure what you’d call the home, but I think what they’re looking for is that the home needs to ‘leak’ outside air, into the home, or provide some type of make-up air. All of the appliances mentioned, would receive combustion air from the surrounding room(s) as opposed to being sealed combustion or direct vent, which draw outside air.

I don’t know how technical this is but, you don’t need electricity to exist in this environment.
