Is there another way to treat hard water in the home without having to buy all that salt for a water softener?
I have hard water and I looked into water softeners and they seem like a big hassle…buying all that salt all of the time, cleaning it out etc. Any other ideas?

Look up a product called ‘ClearWave’ It’s maintenance free.

uhh..permanent or temporary hardness??
anyways..you might want to actually buy those softeners if its permanent..if its temporary..boiling will help remove the calcium carbonate in it..a whitish layer will develop in the ends of your pot…
but this is only for temporary treatment….i suggest you go for the softeners.

a softener is not a hassle, i put salt in mine once every 2 months
and you can get a salt for hard water, its the iron in it

I have hard, hard water and I can tell you that nothing but a good water softener is the way to go. I dump salt in maybe 4 or 5 times a year and it has been great since. My Uncle did invest with a company that sells a device that uses some kind of magnetism it plugs in to the wall and that’s it NO SALT. It was 700 bucks and he has very good water not hard at all since he added it.Time will tell on this but can you say HEY CULLIGAN MAN best bet if you want to try this you can buy one or rent one.
