My Water Heater Is Not Working Correctly.?
We just installed a new water heater at my house, and everything worked fine. Now, it isn’t working though. The burner did not turn on automatically when the hot water ran out. Does anybody know what may be wrong with it?
I could not contact the company.

i assume the gas is on and you lit the water heater ? if so, sounds like the pilot on your hot water heater is out… therefore no burner to reheat your water…your pilot must remain on for proper operation – lighting instructions should be on the tags placed on the water heater itself – these new water heaters have a sight glass with a spark igniter to relite – if so, these new thermocouples have a built in fusible link which are notorious for going bad…. all in all, should be under warranty -

If your water heater has a thermocouple, the pilot flame must burn on it to keep the valve in operation. This is a safety device that must be there to protect you in case the pilot goes out. In such a case the burner valve will not open.
If you try to relight it. You must hold the control valve button in with your finger (with button in the pilot position) till the flame gets the thermocouple hot. Once the pilot stays lit on it’s own then the thermocouple is working. Let loose of the button and then you can turn the button to the burner position and the burner should light up right away.
These are rather crude instructions based on older models but they all operate in a similar way. They are not hard to re-light. Just follow the directions.
If it has an electronic ignition… then you have another issue that only a service man can help you with. Sorry, I can’t help you with that. But you may want to check your fuses and breakers for tripping. It won’t work without power.

It sounds as though the pilot light has gone out. Can you see a flame in the little window? If not you need to relight the pilot. If you don’t know how to then you will have to wait for a technician.
There may be instructions on the boiler itself

Is your pilot light still lite? Is the main gas line inlet to the water heater open? if not sorry i don’t know what else it could be. Sorry try calling Home Depot and see if they have someone with the answers you need .
