My Water Softener Isusing Too Much Salt?

I just installed a softener a month ago, and it’s gone through like 5 bags of salt.
The water in the salt tank is about a foot deep which I think is too much. What is going wrong?
It’s a Fleck 5600SE.

How often do you have it set to cycle? You may be able to reduce the number of days it is regenerating and save some salt. Back off some and notice if you get a change in the water… taste, feeling harder, soap not lathering up like it was. If it gets that way and hasn’t gone thru a cycle, add a day to it.
    Hope this helps
