Need To Repair A Leaky Housesold Radiator, Hot Water System?

We have an 80+ year old house with a hot water heating system. One of our radiators has developed a pinhole and is leaking water onto the floor. Is there any way to repair this as a DIYer?

You will have to shut down the boiler, then release the pressure from the reserve tank and turn the recirculating pump off. This is the safest way. If you can turn off the recirculating pump off and there’s no pressure, fine. Or if you have a turn off on a pipe leading to the radiator, better yet.
One way or the other, your going to have to stop the pressure first. Check with Home Depot or Ace hardware for a type of sealer that will work.
Radiators are usually cast Iron and, don’t take to well to brazing or welding. My father did do some brazing of cast but, had to heat the entire object up, which in this case you cannot do.
