Should I Be Worried About My Water Heater Making Noise?
The water heater in our new apartment makes a lot of noise, especially after showers. It makes quiter popping noises and louder cascading noises that remind me of the sound of an ice make emptying. Should we be worried?

Nothing to worry about. You are hearing the minerals that have setteled in the bottom of the tank. When the heater comes on it is releasing these minerals. This is common when you have hard water.

no this is normal . are you closer to your water heater in your new apt than you was in the last place you lived? it is just air making its way thru the system. if you see leaks then you got a problem

Its the mineral build up in the bottom of the tank which won’t hurt anything other then your pocket book because what is happening is costing you more to heat your water as the heat transfer has to also heat through the build up, “Like insulation” you should have the tank flushed out
