If so, how often do you feed it salt?

Extra props if you live in some exotic, warm place where people have never heard of water softeners.

    yes and we “feed it” roughly once a month and i live in florida

    I don’t have a water softener, but I’ve always thought they were handy : ).

    Usually water softeners are checked once a month. To guarantee a satisfactory production of soft water, the salt level should be kept at least half-full at all times.

    I have a rental unit. It needs 160 lbs of salt every three months. There are only two people in my house. More use equals more salt.
