I heard Brita is a good brand. They have one where you just screw it on the facuet and you're good to go. I am getting one myself so I can have the filtered water for my baby. I think this one even comes with a flavor dispensers to make flavored water for those who don't like it plain.

I install these for a living. they are not that difficult to install . and you can connect them to your refrigerator in most cases also. you can buy one from lowe's or home depot that's sufficient. several water treatment companies also sell them, culligan, aqua pure, kenetico, etc. they will install them for you if you buy theirs. don't buy britta that's a carbon filter it only removes chlorine. Reverse osmosis is the way to go. if you have a metal sink you may need to drill a 1 1/4 inch hole for the faucet. hopefully you don't have granite or marble countertops those are much more difficult to drill. or if you have a soap dispenser you can remove it and put your faucet there. you will need to drill a 3/8" hole high in the drain line under your sink for the r.o waste water to drain to. and you will likely need a 3/8"x3/8"x1/4" T threaded adapter for the feed line. the ones from lowe's and home depot have instructions to install, but i recommend you hire a professional if your husband isn't handy with tools.
