Which Model Tankless Water Heater Should I Buy?
I am looking into buying a tankless water heater from http://www.eztankless.com . Does anyone have any experience with this company?
Which model should I buy? I have a household of 4 people with 1 shower.

Do not just buy a tank less water heater from the web. Go with one from local businesses who install them. They can tell you which ones work the best. So if you want to install it yourself you can just purchase one from them. But if you want someone to install it for you, you have two choices. Both a gas company, like some one who services propane tanks and plumbers install these units. The important thing here is when they come to your house, they figure out what type and size unit is best for you based on the number of bathrooms and people you have in the house. You want to make sure you have enough hot water output to supply the whole house hold. By comparing prices from both a gas company and a plumber, you will be able to get enough info to make a decision on who to go with. Good luck.

Be very careful about buying a tankless water heater.These are some of the cons that the sellers don’t tell you about.
If you just need a bit of hot water you have to run the tap until the hot water gets there, then you have to keep a certain flow going to keep the burner on, For instance if you are shaving and just want a bit to rinse off a blade as you shave you cannot do it without having the tap running.
Look at how far your farthest sink or tub is away from the heater all this water in the pipes will have go down the drain before you get hot water. These units require about a $100.00 maintenance every year if you do not have soft water feeding it, as the tank has to be de limed and cleaned or the burner gets less and less efficient.
I read a study that showed any saving you may gain by not having a tank full of hot water is offset and more, by the water you waste clearing the pipes every time you need hot water.
Also you don’t get the security of having a few gallons of drinking water in case of an emergency ie New Orleans

The cause of some problems with tankless heaters is the BTUH input, which is effected by the size of your gas line, and distance from the meter. If the heater does not get enough gas, it doesn’t heat water as well as is expected. It is not the number of consecutive showers, but how much hot water is needed at once. Some tankless advertise being able to run three appliances at once (shower, dishwasher, sink, etc.) which may be harder to achieve. In your case with one shower at a time, a smaller tankless water heater will work fine.
I’ve heard Tagaki is a good tankless brand brand that has been around for years. I would evaluate how long the heater manuf. has been in business, and what warranty they offer.

Problems?. Not true. I have had over 40 units installed in houses I built. The owners rave about them all the time. Only ones we use are G.E. since we are subscribed to the Ecomagination program.

Stick with a traditional water heater. There is nothing but problems with the tank less type.
